Family Updates

Daisies & Brownies learn Girl Scout songs and games!  Have fun singing old favorites and learn new ones.  Girls and adults will have a blast playing games and making a special snack.  Girls will enjoy up to 3 hours of programming.

Cost: $6 girl, adult free

Date & Time: March 23, 2014  1:00 – 4:00 pm

Girl Scouts in ACTION, the popular new afterschool program takes to the field when girls in grades K-5 participate in GirlSports, 3 sessions of afterschool fitness, fun, and learning plus a full Sports Field Day!

We make fitness fun through activities to strengthen your body and improve flexibility.  Girls set goals and track progress in their fitness jouirnal while strengthening team building skills and forming healthy friendships.

Each session is led by trained, caring facilitators and includes healthy snacks and homework help.  Girls receive a Journal, GirlSports patch, water bottle and activity supplies for 3 sessions + Field Day.

Cost: only $54 for all 3 sessions and Field Day, plus annual Girl Scout membership if not currently registered.  Partial scholarships are available.  NEW! Join us for the field day only, $20. Register today!
 
Location: The Center, 803 Kingwood Street, Brainerd, MN

Date & Time: Tuesdays, 3:15pm - 5:15pm March 4, 11, 18 + Field Day

Field Day
: Saturday, 9am - 3pm March 22 at Central Lakes College Gymnasium

Parents/Caregivers provide transportation to/from the GirlSports Field Day and are welcome to stay and watch their girls try a variety of sports and fun fitness activities with the help of local fitness experts.

Join us ast the Westgate Mall for a little after-hours shopping and for tons of Hawaiian fun! Learn all about the 2015 GSMWLP rip to Hawaii and take time to think where YOU want to go.  Stay up late dancing and goal setting.

Bring your sleeping bag and your sense of adventure!

Cost includes program supplies, pizza snack, breakfast, and a patch.

The Girl Scout Traveling Shop will be at this event until 10:00 pm!

Attention adventurous girls!  You are needed to explore a new planet!  Join your fellow explorers to discover a new star, and use your team’s outdoor and team work to solve the challenges you encounter!

Day Program:
Grades K-12 | 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
$20 girls and adults | $5 safety-ratio adults
Includes a special space dinner, program materials and a patch.

Saturday Overnight:
Grades 4 – 12 | 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 a.m.
$30 Girls and Adults | $5 Safety-Ratio Adults

Grow your leadership skills and become prepared for summer Day Camps and to take the lead at Girl Scout events and programs. 

Details are in the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for Cadettes, page 30.  In order to become a certified Program Aide, girls complete the Leader in Action award, attend this Program Aide training, then work directly with girls for an extended period of time. 

Cost includes training, supplies, and light meal.  Girls will enjoy up to 4 hours of programming.

Hello! 

It's really me your Volunteer Specialsit for R03!  I've been crisscrossing our Region and Region 4 offering New Leader Training!  It's been awesome meeting new volunteers and seeing the committment of Mom's who are recruiting friends and Grandmothers or former Girl Scouts to come back and help lead a troop!  Can you beleive we are still recruiting new volunteers?!!

We will recognize twenty adult award receipents, R03 top cookie sellers, three honorable mentions for the Leaders Day Card Contest and any girl or troop who earned their Bronze, Silver ot Gold Award.   Girls or Troops who earned the Bronze, Silver or Gold Award and want to be recognozed should contact Bonnie!

You are winding down on the  cookie sale  and I'm hearing that girls did a fantastic job selling cookies.  A special Thank you to the Mom's and Dad'd who helped make it happen.   


I hope you take a moment to check out the Kaleidoscope Events being offered in Duluth and Bemidiji - these events were planned as a direct reposne to volunteer feedback.  The programming is awesome!

I hope you take a moment to reflect on the postive impact you are making on girls  and don't forget to enjoy your own journey!

Hello Friends!

I know it's a really busy time of year... Hope you are working on Adult Recognitions please submit by March 1st if you are wanting to present at spring recognitions.  Remember you can nominate someone for an award any time of the year.

Leader's Day Card Contest entries are due to the Duluth Office March 1st.  Will Region 3 have another winner?

Save the Date and stay tuned for details - Region 3 Celebration will be held at the Brainerd high School on April 24th.

I'll be doing a New Leader Training March 29th in Cromwell.  it's ok to register if you are a tried and true volunteer who wants a refresher!
