2014 National Convention

It’s time to elect our National Delegates for the 2014 Girl Scouts of the USA National Council Meeting. National Sessions are held every three years in order to conduct elections, vote on amendments to the Constitution, establish requirements or credentials and determine the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout Movement and Program.  The 2014 National Council Session 53rd Convention takes place on October 16-19, 2014 at the Calvin L Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center and will be hosted by Girl Scouts of Utah.

National Council Delegates assume one of the most significant responsibilities in the Girl Scout movement. They give direction to the future of Girl Scouts by electing the National Board of Directors and the National Nominating Committee for the upcoming triennium, and acting on proposals directed toward the fostering and improvement of Girl Scouting. As a National Council Delegate, you will also review, debate and vote on any proposed changes to the GSUSA policies.

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines are allowed 5 delegates based on the council’s membership. Any registered Girl Scout, who will be 14 years or older by October 1, 2014, may be a National Delegate; Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts are encouraged to apply. The goal of the council is to elect three adult delegates and two girl delegates. Leigh Ann Davis, the Chief Executive Officer, and Ruth Molloy, Council Board Chair will serve as the alternates for the council.
