Camp

Camp Shingobee Timbers

Located near Walker, MN, Camp Shingobee Timbers has welcomed campers for 26 years.  Located on Big Bass Lake and surrounded by the Chippewa National Forest camp has 170 acres of adventure for up to 600 campers each summer.

In the summer, girls enjoy time on the water: canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing.  On land girls enjoy:  hiking, geo-caching, cooking over a fire, archery, crafts, skits/songs around the amphitheater, team building and Camp's 38 foot climbing wall with Zip Line, Traversing Lines and Flying Squirrel.  Check out the Ropes Course Rental page for more information!

Depending on which summer session girls choose, they will sleep in our main program center building with a 4-person dormitory style room or in an outdoor cabin unit.  Our trained camp staff sleep in nearby rooms/cabins to assist with girl needs throughout the night.

Our main program building  is host to all modern amenities: showers, bathrooms, industrial kitchen, wireless internet (for user groups), and meeting/programming space.  Each of our outside units have electricity in all cabins  and clean outdoor latrines with water.

Bring A Friend

Girl Scouts can bring friends, even if they are not currently Girl Scouts. The friend's camp session costs the registration fee plus $12 and registers them as a Girl Scout.  To bring a friend, complete separate registrations and mail in the same envelope. Girls must put each other's name on the registration form and register for the same session.
