Did you know that Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership organization for girls?
Carrying on that success begins with a Girl Scout Recruitment Night! Recruitment Nights are about more than just filling out and collecting forms; they are about showing new families the wonderful opportunities available to their girl through Girl Scouts.
Since these nights are so important, we talk about them as being ‘all hands on deck’ events. Having many volunteers in attendance will allow you to really showcase the Girl Scout way: helpful, fun, sisterhood, and FUN! Extra volunteers also allow the chance to help form new troops and find new leaders, as well as help keep things organized and flowing. Every event needs people to welcome the new families as a greeter, assist with handing out forms, and many other tasks. The most important reason for volunteers to assist with Registration Nights is to show potential new members how much you enjoy the Girl Scout sisterhood as a parent/volunteer.
This year we have a variety of resources to assist you as you invite girls and their parents to become part of the Girl Scout family:
· Fall Recruitment Guide – which shares timelines, provides forms to assist you at your event, and includes a script of important information to share with new families
· Colored flyers that can be personalized for your event – and we’ll event print them for you!
· Recruitment DVD/YouTube video – created by a girl for her Silver Award project, you can play this at your event as an introduction or at your school open house
· Family Handbook – share them with families to get a snapshot of what Girl Scouts is
The regional staff team is here to assist you as you welcome new families to Girl Scouts. We look forward to assisting you with your event! Please let me (Jeanne) know how we can assist!!!!
