Do you know a girl who has completed an exceptional volunteer project?  Encourage her to check out the Prudential Spirit of Community Award!  Girl Scouts in grades 5 through 12 who are making a difference through volunteer service are eligible for this prestigious award, which includes up to $11,000 in prize, scholarship, and DC-travel money combined.

Kristen of Melrose High School is pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award.  She invites community members to support her efforts to bring awareness of depression and suicide to the area, and to reach out to those who might be struggling with depression.  The purpose of the September 27 run/walk is to raise funds for her Healing Hearts Seminar to take place October 29 at Melrose Elementary Gym.  Additional details found here.  Best of luck, Kristen!

Snowflake Adventures

Do you love winter adventures & camp?

Join Girl Scouts as we go outside and explore winter adventures at Camp Shingobee Timbers.  Try your hand at winter sports including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sliding and depending on the weather ice skating!  We will spend most of our time outside but will have time to create a wintery craft and Minnesota sweet treat!  All participants sleep in a heated dormitory style four season program center! Girl Scouts can sign up for this program with a friend who is new to Girl Scouts—each girl will get a $5 discount off the program cost!

Place: Camp Shingobee Timbers, Walker, MN

Grades: 2-8 Overnight Program; K-8 Day Program

Date :

Day Program: Feb 8,  9am-4:30pm

Overnight Program: Feb 8 – 9, 2014 9am Saturday – 11am Sunday

Cost:

Day Program: $25 per girl / $10 per adult / $5 per volunteering adult

Overnight Program: $35 per girl /$25 per adult/$10 per volunteering adult

Non-Girl Scouts are welcome!  Please add $15 for annual membership.

The Willmar Stingers are excited to invite the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to a Stingers Camp Out! The inaugural camp out will be on Friday, July 19th following the Stingers game against the Mankato MoonDogs. All Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and their families are welcome to join in the fun!  Each person will receive a game ticket and a concession stand voucher for a hot dog, bag of chips, and can of soda. For those who are camping out after the game, the Stingers will have games, player and mascot appearances, and will provide a light breakfast in the morning. Tickets only $12.50/person and that includes the game and the food voucher. No additional cost for the overnight, but please RSVP so we have a head count.
