Here is information on two opportunities for troops to take part in service projects to benefit their local communities this fall. The first one is in the Ashland area, but might also be a neat idea of something a troop or service unit may want to organize in your own area. The second opportunity is for the greater Duluth area. Click below for more details, including the contacts at each of these organizations if you would like to find out more information.
Thank you for all the wonderful things your troops are doing for your communities. You keep us all inspired! If your troop would like to share information about a service project you are planning or show us what you've accomplished, we'd love to hear from you. You can comment below or click any of the Regional Team's names in the left column to e-mail us.

SIGN UP YOUR GROUP TO HELP !
FAITH IN ACTION INVITES your youth group to help senior citizens with fall yard work.
For several years now, Faith In Action has worked with youth and college groups in our area in the fall as well as the spring to help with yard work for senior citizens. The older people who receive this help have greatly appreciated this service. If your youth group would like to take on an assignment for one or more yards this fall, let me know and I will put you on the list. I never know the number of requests from elderly that will come in, but I am usually able to use all the help I can find. The work is scheduled after the bulk of the leaves are down. Your group sets up the time to do the raking so that it works well for your schedule. Faith In Action has some rakes available to check out. If your group is ready and willing, let me know and we will wait for the leaves to start falling.

SHARE Food Drive
It will take place on Saturday, October 27, this year. We will be scheduling 2 hour shifts between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to collect food donations at all of the local grocery stores. Because of limited space at the grocery store entrances, they have requested no more than 3 people/shift. Help is also needed to transport donations to the downtown Food Shelf [120 N. 1st Ave. W.] throughout the day and from the West Duluth Super One to the West Food Shelf [4831 Grand Ave.] in the afternoon. Let me know if you need more details at this time. Interested volunteers can contact me at 727.2391. -- Meg Kearns
