Are You Ready to Make a Difference in the World?
Lakes and Pines Girl Scouts in 9th through 12 grades who are interested in pursuing the Girl Scout Gold Award - along with adults supporting those girls - are invited to register for one of our monthly Gold Award Conference Calls. During this call, you will get a better understanding of the characteristics of a successful final Take Action Project, the role of adults in the Gold Award process, and Lakes and Pines' application and interview schedule. Typically held at 7 pm the 4th Tuesday of the month, just sign up by visiting our council's Gold Award page. The next project proposal/final report deadline is September 2, with the interview to take place the following third Saturday, September 21 at the Waite Park Regional Center. Other interview months are January, March, June and November. Again, details about the application and interview process are covered in the monthly conference calls.
GSUSA has just released an exciting new way to complete all seven steps of the gold Award Process. Check out the new "My Gold Award" app at http://www.girlscouts.org/program/highest_awards/gold_award.asp for an intriguing and user friendly option for documenting your steps to earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.
Lastly, community adults willing to share their knowledge of project development, community networking and leadership are invited to consider the Girl Scout Gold Award Mentor Committee. For details about this exciting and rewarding way to mentor and support our teen girls, please contact Director of Program Tricia Andrews.
